The Kent County Department of Social Services provides foster parent and adoptive services for children.
Our Foster Parent Program finds and supports families to provide temporary, safe, stable, and nurturing homes for children until they can be reunited with their families, placed with relatives, or adopted.

Goal: Permanency

For every child entering foster care, we seek to promote permanency from the beginning of placement.
Our "Place Matters" initiative promotes safety, family functioning, permanency and community-based placement for foster children.

The Kent County Foster Parent Program makes every effort to keep children placed in foster care near their family place and familiar surroundings.
